There's a lot of love in this card. It's for my mailman. He retired after being my mailman for practically my whole life. When I was a kid I used to go out and chat with him all the time. When it snowed, I made little snowmen on the top of the mailbox for him. He even came to see me in my high school play. And since I bought my house a mile from my parents, he's been my mailman for my adult years too. Now his wife is my mailman. I live in kind of a magical place. LOL!
His retirement card had to use the faux postage technique and the stamps needed to have fish, because I used to tell him all my fishing stories when I was younger. So I found these fish stickers. But I also found this pillow to inspire my background. Tied my "package" all up with twine and had to add a tag with hearts and a thank you.

Love your faux postage Jennifer and great card you made from your inspiration. Your mailman is going to love this and what a treat to have the same mailman as a kid and an adult. My SIL is a carrier and she gave me the name of my postal carrier. Since I know her name I introduced myself to her and told her to stop any time she needs anything. She is a real sweetie and I love that I know her now.

I just love seeing faux postage cards. It's one of those techniques that I think should always be in fashion . What a delightful story behind the card, too. I love the thought of you making snowmen on top of the mailbox.
Jennifer, it sounds like you do live in a magical place! Wow! To know your mailman most of your life! He will love this! I love the way your inspiration photos worked together on this! I LOVE your faux postage stamp! Gorgeous card!

Oh, Jen, what a lovely story about your mailman! I love the part about you putting little snowmen on the mailbox. You describe an awesome relationship with him. Your card is remarkable and I'm sure he will love it! The fish "stamps" are so perfect since you always told him fishing stories. I suspect he will hold onto this beauty for the rest of his life. I can feel the love exuding from the card! Great story and card, Jen!
